Does the media influence us? Or should this be how much we are influenced? Does media affect how we live our lives, or how we think and feel? No one can deny that media has an effect on society, but has it taken away our ability to think for our self’s. We are being feed information constantly, from Television, magazines, and newspapers, most of us believing without questing the reliability of the source, is it credible? Does this change how we may go about our everyday lives, affecting our social attitudes and how does this filter to how and even where we go about our daily duties.
Recent studies depict a major shift in media consumption. This is due to technological advancement in interactive services design for ease of use. It is these sources, which have become the most prevalent. High demand for quick delivery of information is guiding and shaping these interactive services to infiltrate our daily lives. Media can now be communicated in an instant, in a spur of a moment with anyone in the world, via smart devices such as iphones and other smart platforms. These devices deliver and send information from the waking moment, the commute to university, during lectures and often the minute before we sleep. As a society we have become reliant on this constant flow of information. This is coherent in the changing behaviours of are society, how we communicate socially with family and friends, or communicate ideas and feelings.
According to a article by Kelly Hodgkin (2010), “smartphones are growing steadily in the UK and now make up 73.5% of the contract market” this not only portrays how we use now use mobile devices, but raises the question has are lives become shaped by the actions of products?
