A social network is a social structure made up of individuals (or organizations) called “nodes”, which are tied (connected) by one or more specific types of interdependency, such as friendship, kinship, common interest, financial exchange, dislike, sexual relationships, or relationships of beliefs, knowledge or prestige.

Friendster is a pioneer and leading global online social network, is focused on helping people stay in touch with friends and discover new people and things that are important to them. Friendster in one of the best sites that allow people to meaningfully participate with others in exciting and fun ways. Friendster prides itself in delivering and easy to use, friendly and interactive environment where users can easily connect with anyone around the world. (

Twitter is a website, owned and operated by Twitter Inc., which offers a social networking and microblogging service, enabling its users to send and read messages called tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the user's profile page. Tweets are publicly visible by default; however, senders can restrict message delivery to just their followers. Users may subscribe to other users' tweets – this is known as following and subscribers are known as followers.

Multiply is a social networking service with an emphasis on allowing users to share media – such as photos, videos and blog entries – with their "real-world" network. It is currently the biggest "social shop" in Southeast Asia with over 70,000 merchants and 20 million unique visitors.

Tumblr is a microblogging platform that allows users to post text, images, videos, links, quotes and audio to their tumblelog, a short-form blog. Users can follow other users, or choose to make their tumblelog private. The service emphasizes ease of use.
