1.0 Introduction
1.1 History of the Organization
IGB is one of Malaysia’s leading property development group and is listed on the main board of Bursa Malaysia. Its business activities encompass construction, property development, retail development and hospitality. Today IGB is a diversified business conglomerate and a major player in the property industry in Malaysia and abroad. The Mid Valley Megamall, part of the Phase 1 of the RM1.3 billion Mid Valley City development project. The Mid Valley Megamall which has approximately 1.7 million sq ft of lettable space over 5 levels, with three major anchors, Carrefour, Jusco and Metrojaya. Since its opening in November 1999, patronage to the Megamall has steadily increased. Tenants in the Megamall continue to trade well and enjoy good sales given the high traffic volume and increased spending power of the customers. Peer recognition has also won the Megamall the international and local industry awards for its contribution to the retail industry in Malaysia. September 2007 saw the opening of The Gardens Mall, Mid Valley City’s higher mid-market lifestyle shopping destination. Part of the RM1.5 billion The Gardens development in Mid Valley City, this high-end project aptly complements the on going success of The Megamall but taps into different market segments; thus extending Mid Valley City’s shopping reach to a larger and more significant market. 1.2 Company Profile
The construction of Boulevard Hotel started on 2004 and it is completed by June 2005 by Ensignia Construction Sdn Bhd, which is also a company under IGB. The cost of the project is over RM 100.00 million. The hotel site is known as Tower which is part of the Mid Valley Mega Mall North Court and it is 28 storey high.
