It is through their valued support that I would be able to get my attachment and enjoy it. My heartfelt thanks for their support. Worth mentioning is the invaluable support and guidance that I constantly got throughout my industrial attachment from the administration. Special thanks go to Mr. J.K Wakahiga (Administrative Officer) Ms. Agnes Njeri (Deputy Town Treasurer), Mr. Z.M Kabiri (Accountant 2/Rates officer), Mr. James Mutugi (ICT Director), Ms. Caroline Karugo (Procurement Officer), Mr. James Wagunya (Revenue collection officer) and Ms. Rahab Wambui (Licensing officer) and all the treasurers department team for their professional, guidance, supervision and for all the support and ideas that we shared during the course of my industrial attachment. CHAPTER 1
1. BACKGROUND
Industrial attachment is an industrial training given to every student in the school of business of Kimathi University College of Technology in his 3rd year of study in the four year course undertaking. The program is normally in the long vacation and lasts for a period of 8 weeks. The industrial attachment considers the course taken in the university. Students normally go to an institution or department related to their course of study. For example in the school of business a student undertaking the bachelor of commerce degree in accounting will apply for attachment in any accounting institution or in an institution with an accounting department. Industrial attachment normally involves both the private and public institutions and government organizations. A student will apply to various institutions for a placement or the university may negotiate with various institutions or organizations to attach some students to the...
