Many people do not realize all the advantages that America gives to us. The "bill of rights" is the backbone to what freedom is all about. Having these rights is a blessing to all who embrace this country. But even though society is allotted freedoms society cannot take advantage of them. Boundaries have to be drawn especially when it comes to using our freedoms in public. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of public order is that if the United States did not have order in public then how much disarray would the United States be in today. I truly believe if the United States did not have order there would be so many more problems than before. In addition Public order could be in connection with personal perception of morality. According to this website:, the definition of public order is: “a crime which involves acts that will interfere with the everyday operation of society and the ability of people to function efficiently.” This could be an advantage to know the meaning of public order because it could help a person protect themselves against crime. Another advantage of public order for a person is; if a criminal is caught violating any public order the conviction the violator could be punished by law with a fine of no more the $500 and no more than 6 months in jail or the punishment could be both. Crime that goes unreported or not prosecuted because of the lack of victim awareness that people have in the United States is considered an advantage. So with the raising victim awareness of public order crime may help people against crime such as consensual crime, victimless crime, treason, disorderly conduct. For more information on public order crimes please look at this website: One good advantage of public order is police conduct evaluation for series of publicized events. The police evaluation because of the first publicized beating death of Author Mcduffe. Why the evaluations are a advantage for publicized events is because officers can now keep the peace or jump in if any trouble occurs in the event. In addition public order policies will attract public support. With public support it could mean the community could be safe and crime free. The last advantage for public order is because people in the United States have the right to engage in self destructive activities, but with public order there can be a limit to the amount of destructive activities. On the other hand, are individual right. The most important advantage of individual rights in one simple word is freedom. The bill of rights gives us the freedom to do as we choose without the interference of the government. Thomas Jefferson once wrote “ A bill of rights is what the people are entitled to against every government on earth, general or particular, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference." Not every person in the world has the luxury of making his or her own choices without being told what to do. As individuals we have the right to make our own choices and choose our own paths in life. We have the freedom to come and go as we please and say what we want because we are protected by the constitution. It does not matter what race, gender, or a person’s religion you; everyone is free to make his or her own individual choices. This right goes back to the development of the bill of rights and has affected every aspect of the nation for many years. The foundation of the bill of rights can be seen as a starting block for many other countries living under a dictatorship. The American Revolution," says Adam Michnik "appears to embody simply an idea of freedom without utopia. Following Thomas Paine based on the natural right of the people to determine their own fate. It consciously relinquishes the notion of a perfect, conflict-free society in favor of one based on equal opportunity, equality before the law, religious freedom, and...
