Theories are formed to exhibit diverse views. The virtue theory, the utilitarianism theory and deontological theory are the same in some ways but very different in others. The views from these theories are different on morality and ethics, so it is harder to know which theory is right . Virtue ethics theory says that we should look at the character of a person rather than their actions. Aristotle claims that a virtuous life is easy, and that living a virtuous life makes people who live that way are happy. When a person performs virtuous acts they become a better person. By living and acting this way regularly it becomes normal and virtuous acts are normal every day thing, thus making a virtuous person. But even though we make virtues a habit we need to remember we live this way because it is right. Virtue is something we build or grow we are not born with it. A person is not good or bad at birth the way they live and their actions build the habits that decided if they are good or bad. Virtue ethics theory challenges if a person should be judged by their actions rather than their character. Utilitarianism theory theorizes that actions are morally right if the action is for the overall good (Boylan, 2009 ). Morals teach us to always put others before ourselves, Ethics says that we each hold responsibility for our own actions. This theory would have to become ethically coordinated to work, because it takes people interacting for it to work meaning there would require social contract. Deontological ethics is a moral theory that says a persons actions or duty comes from principle. It asserts the existence of moral facts and so is a moral realist theory” (Boylan, 2009). All three of these theories are a like because they challenge a persons ethics and morals, also because they all need ethics and morals to support their theories.
