Introduction:
                    Babu is the story of a small boy who came to Bombay as a servant boy when he was just around ten years. The authoress Inderjit Kaur Barathakar gives a vivid picture of the toils of this young boy.

Babu as an errand boy:
                      Babu came to Bombay as a servant boy when he was just around ten years old. He played with the two sons of the family, did odd jobs and ran errands. He got all the foods he could eat, wore much better cloths. He was not happy in the beginning. After few moths, he became settled to his circumstances. Many times he thought of bringing his brother Chandu to Bombay. He prevent himself from doing so he because he wanted his brother to study. His sisters were married away. Soon after the marriage of his sister s, both his parents died.

Chandu’s school days:
                      Chandu was good at his studies. Babu wanted his brother to become a “big” officer, but Chandu wanted to come to his brother Babu and work like him as a domestic servant. However, Babu was able to persuade Chandu to continue his schooling.

Chandu’s selfless love and affection:
                              Babu wanted his brother to study like the two sons of the family he was working with. Babu continued to support his brother by sending his entire salary every month. He spent nothing on himself. He occasionally borrowed his salary in advance to meet the special requirements and needs of his brother.

Babu’s dream:
                  The son’s of the master’s family became engineer. Babu started dreaming of his brother also becoming an engineer and joining the government department of... [continues]
