There are many ways to deal with misbehaving children. Depending upon the parent, the type of discipline used can vary. One such type of discipline a parent may use could be based on what the child has done wrong. For instance, if the child has said a bad word, a parent might take away privileges, such as, television or being able to see friends outside of school. Using this same example, a parent might go as far as washing their child’s mouth out with soap.
Perhaps the worst type of discipline though is physical discipline. This type of scolding demeans the child and makes them feel inferior. The truth is children are indeed less superior to adults, but hitting them is not the correct way to get that message across. A simple tongue lashing, or possibly a light tap on the back of their head, should be enough to straighten them out and make them realize what they have done wrong.
