These types of discussions are important and should be applied to any type of business that has employees, such as Luen Fung Enterprises. In most cases, employees are told what to do, but rarely do they understand how their performance will impact desired results. Most of the employees gain their understanding through familiarization over time, but due to the fact that they rarely have the types of discussions explained above, except in cases when they are being reprimanded for poor performance, they do not have any good reasons or they lack motivation to improve their performance. The only motivation they have is to earn a paycheck and be as complacent as they can be resulting in poor results. If the management team at Luen Fung Enterprises applies some the principles in article mentioned above, they would experience tremendous results and probably have a high performance team and fully motivated to perform well.
