Improving Communication Skills

Action Plan

Aim:
The aim of this experiment is to develop a better degree of communication skills. This purpose will be met by using different communication skill management strategies. Communication is targeted at conveying your message to others clearly and without any ambiguity. According to Wikipedia Communication a process whereby information is enclosed in a package and is channeled and imparted by a sender to a receiver via some medium. The receiver then decodes the message and gives the sender a feedback. Communication is the basic need of a society and being unable to communicate properly may not only curb all progress, as it is paramount to all progress, but also cause misunderstandings and result in unhappiness. Since we are speaking beings, we must know how to masterly use this tool of language bestowed upon us. I need to manage and improve these skills more than others owing to my choice of profession. The better I am able to carry my message across to me selected audience, the more successful I am as a manager. To be an able communicator I will exert maximum efforts in these five weeks and try to get optimum out of it. On higher level I wish to make my communication reach the level of spontaneity rather than it being formulaic. A simple example to distinguish between both is the difference between a reading and a speech. I

Rationale:
This very area of managing and improving communication skills caught my attention above all others because I feel that for one thing I need a lot more improvement in it and for another you can never claim that you don’t need further enhancement of your communication skills. It is something that demands consistent vigilance and for this very reason I made this choice. My plan is to whet my communicative capabilities by involving myself in different activities like group discussion, attending public meetings, making written correspondences, etc. This action plan...
