1.Yoga has been practiced for thousands of years in India. Yoga is based on the idea that the mind and body are one. This is why practitioners believe that yoga improves how you see the world, which calms the spirit and decreases stress. (Kathleen Romito, MD- Family Medicine, Marc S. 1.Exercise is great for the brain. Physical activity stimulates various brain chemical that leave you happier and mo re relaxed than you were before you worked out. Studies have shown daily exercise can boost your confidence, improve self esteem and can also help prevent depression. (Mayo Clinic Staff, www.mayoclinic.com , July 25, 2009. 2.The reason so many people blow off exercising is because they haven’t found an activity of interest. Physical exercise doesn’t have to be tedious. There are several gyms and organizations that offer classes such as ballroom dancing, kick boxing, spinning! Or you can enjoy the outdoors by hiking, swimming, football and basketball. There are so many ways you can be active. As long as you’re moving- It counts!
