GUIDELINES FOR APPLICATIONS FOR B.E., DIPLOMA IN ENGINEERING, B. PHARMACY AND DIPLOMA IN PHARMACY UNDER SELF FINANCING SCHEME FOR THE ACADEMIC SESSION 2013-14 Application forms complete in all respects and duly supported by the following documents in quadruplicate, ie four copies (with authentic English translations, wherever required), of only those candidates who possess the minimum qualifications as given in para 3 below and are willing to join the above courses would be entertained: i) Four attested copies of candidate’s recent colour photograph - three pasted at prescribed places in the application form and one additional photograph, not pasted to any form; ii) Four attested copies of candidate’s certificates and marks sheets with percentage of marks of the qualifying examination; iii) Four attested copies of candidate’s: a) First four pages of the passport; b) Citizenship certificate; c) Birth certificate; d) Character certificate from the Head of Institution last attended iv) Undertaking from the candidate for acceptance of nomination under higher fee category(optional) for B.E./ B. Pharmacy courses; 2. All certificates, documents and photographs must be attested by both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Bangladesh and the High Commission of India, Dhaka. 3. Eligibility criteria for various courses:
(a) For B.E.course: A candidate must have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks with at least 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and 50% in English in the qualifying examination (equivalent to 10+2 standard of CBSE in India). (b) For Diploma in Engineering Course: A candidate must have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks with at least 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the first attempt and 50% in English in 10th as well as in 12th Grade examination. (c) For B.Pharmacy/Diploma in Pharmacy courses: A candidate must have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks with at least 60% in Physics,
Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology) and 50% in English in the qualifying examination. ( i ) It may please be noted that for admission to 1st year Diploma in Engineering course, the age limit of the candidate should be below 21 years as on 1.8.2013. (ii) Some Directorates of Technical Education require that the minimum aggregate marks should be obtained in the first attempt. (iii) Percentages of marks mentioned in the application forms must be clearly indicated as such and not given in grades like A, B, C, D, E, etc. If grades are unavoidable, the marks obtained in percentages should be indicated invariably in brackets. Applications where percentages of marks are not indicated will be rejected. 4. There are two categories of fees for the B.E./B. Pharmacy courses:i) Lower fee category ii) Higher fee category As the number of seats under lower fee category is limited; it may please be noted that many of the Engineering/Pharmacy colleges charge higher tuition fee ranging from US Dollars 3000-6000 per annum. In case any candidate is interested in being considered against such seats, an undertaking to this effect (Annexure III) is to be provided along with the application. 5. Selected candidates may have to undergo medical tests including AIDS test on arrival in India. Candidates are expected to comply with admission formalities and procedures of the respective college/universities. 6. The lists of colleges for B. Pharmacy courses and Engineering courses are enclosed at Annexure-I and II respectively. 7. The last date for receipt of completed applications (in the prescribed proforma) is 22nd April 2013.
