Header graphics are a form of meat and potatoes to bring to a web design. It is a main component that draws the viewer to a certain professionalism that the site contains. Many people don’t think of a header graphic actually being an important component to making a great web design and often overlook it. Header graphics need just as much time taken into creating it as the web design itself. Many times beginners or viewers think that the information given on the page is widely the most important part to getting the idea of the web page across; but professionals who browse around will look at the header graphic and make a simple judgment of visual progression towards browsing the page. A successful execution of a well designed header graphic makes the web design more appealing. Look at it like a book on a shelf, people will read the back of the book for a general basis of what this book is about, to see if it is interesting and worth buying. A header graphic should contain the main focus of why this page is even up and running. It gives the viewer a general idea of what is involved on the site, giving more of an interest to keep looking at the page itself. The header graphic starts the reader, and with the assist of easy to navigate buttons and quick readings on the page it becomes a whole new experience. When the page becomes jumbled with too many words and over-thoughts the viewer can become completely overwhelmed, leading them to not even want to have any more to do with this page.
