Impact of Computers in Our Society Today
TETANESIZA
Africans see culture as a definition of a true you, the legacy and physical attributes of a group of society that are inherited from past generations maintained in the present and bestowed for the benefit of the future generation, from it language, religion , cuisine, social habit, music & art, But through culture misperceptions are silenced. These days culture is neglected to an extent that even our traditions are forgotten. Upon the high unemployment rate in rural areas, Enactus MUT acknowledged and embraced the fact that clothing and textile industry has been and remains a very significant source of employment to all,
But through culture misperceptions are silenced.

In the CFT challenge proposed by Edcon last year Enactus MUT saw the need to address such issue and came out with innovative ideas of capturing tradition through clothing by igniting minds and keeping the rainbow nation alive INTRODUCING THE TETANESIZA PROJECT.

Last year Enactus MUT travelled 216km to a small town called Umtubatuba next to the greater Saint Lucia Wetland Park in the north coast of KZN, Where we identified the challenges that were facing a co-op that we formed with a group of 3 tailors, 2 students, 1 security and 1 traditional shoe maker. The challenges that the group experienced were the registration of the co-op, securing a working environment, financial literacy, marketing mix, promotional skills and business skills.

Once again Enactus Mut intervened as we taught them business and financial skills which was done by Nedbank as well as help them create their own constitution. They were now able to produce their own business cards showing a successful transfer of marketing skills from us to them.

As this is an on-going project Tetanesiza experienced certain challenges this current Enactus year, they had a problem with the place that they were operating in. The reason why they decided to relocate was because they had excess supply due to insufficient

When I first heard Ontario textile artist, Karen Trask, speak in our class on September 20, 2017, I was left hanging by a thread. In fact, it was Trask’s artist talk, combined with my research of Sheila Hicks and Joanna Close, that stirred something buried deep inside me, a yearning to rekindle my knowledge of textiles and fiber creations. Not as the stereotype of ‘women’s work’, but as art in fiber, my identity, and mindfulness. Traditionally, labour intensive skills of knitting, spinning, weaving and other techniques were viewed as ‘craft’ and ‘women’s work.’…

For hundreds of years people have placed some message in the type of clothing they wore. Long ago people wanted to be different from other people by altering their clothing. Some examples of “standing out” became very popular and many people followed. This was the moment when fashion appeared. Clothing is basically a covering designed to be worn on a person 's body and it is a necessity that is resolved by the norms of social conduct. This “necessity” brings a lot of variety into the lives of people and makes their image more integrated. It is not about people serving fashion; it is about fashion being a slave of people.…

For a long period of time, the way of life for most people were long, tedious days at work, with not much to show for, hardly any time to spend with family, and being fortunate to come home in a mildly presentable. Thanks to technology, most of these issues have been touched upon and improved. With inventions such as the steam engine, the water frame, the cotton gin, and the spinning jenny, our modern day might not have been so fortunate or plentiful. With the help of these inventions in the industrial revolution, post-revolutionary inventors and entrepreneurs were given the inspiration for their creations that led to the efficient lifestyles we live today. Although these new technologies made life a bit more bearable, there were still problems such as the lack of safety precautions and the amount of hours put into a single workday. With the help of time and new inventors, these problems were fixed, and the initial inventions were improved to better our lifestyles. Even though these primitive machines had very much noise pollution with all the screeching and grinding of their clogs, our modern lifestyle might still reflect those of the period prior to the industrial revolution without these breakthroughs in technology.…
