Illegal Immigration: “A Dream”
Did you know that being naïve and uneducated about our country can bring a lot of pain to innocent immigrants? Illegal Immigration has been a common social issue throughout the world and in America in recent years. Immigrants have been scrutinized and deported by the government for illegally entering America. Immigrants attempt move to the United States to give their families better lives, and knowing that there children automatically gain citizenship when born here in America. There is a large population of young people living in the United States who were brought to the U.S when they were young children without citizenship. Even though they have lived most of their lives in the U.S, they’re unable to expand their education, work legally in the U.S, and they often live in constant fear of detection by immigration authorities. Why should they be punished because their parents decided bring them here years ago? There has to be a better solution for illegal immigrants in this situation to stay in the United States. Rather than deporting these innocent young adults that yearn to live here in America, there has to be another possible solution. The solution that the government devises will be stated in this paper; in addition, to some background information and my overall opinion.
In order to understand the predicament that illegal immigrants face in their homeland, you must first look at it from their perspective. According to Gary Granneman, Illegal Immigrants from Mexico who are smuggled pay more than $1000 to be brought into the U.S. Some immigrants may travel in carts, trucks, and boats to get to the United States. When first traveling to the U.S, many immigrants do not have money to rent a house or stay in a hotel.
