Ideal American
An ideal American is an honest, law-abiding, patriot. To become an ideal American a person would have to do is want to be an American. With that desire, being honest, patriotic, and law-abiding will be easy.
An honest man is always favored over a liar. Even though honesty is hard to come by, an American would have to set an example to the ones around him. An honest American has integrity, by following the law when no one is around. He would also have to give his true opinions concerning decisions about this country. Also an honest American would not cheat his customers if he owned a store.
Obeying the law is also a good trait for and ideal American. A law-abiding American will vote when he has to, so we don’t have bad leaders in charge. He will also, as described, abide by the laws set before him. He will also know what the Constitution states about his rights and liberties.
A patriotic American would respect the flag, the President, and he would also support the troops of America. Respecting the flag is an American’s way of saying he is proud of his country. His respect for the President, even if he is from a different party, would show a desire for a better country without strife. He would support the troops because they are risking their lives to keep the Constitution in its proper place, as the basic law by which Americans stand.
Honesty, patriotism, and law-abiding are three traits that describe an American. Having integrity, he will have a clear conscience. Obeying the law will keep him respected by all around. Being patriotic would help him in his troubling times.

    Honesty is another strong characteristic that makes up a good president. Abraham Lincoln was known to be so honest he was given the nickname honest Abe. Many people know that fact but many do not know why.
