SAFETY:
● Physical incidents:

1. Call parent of student who was injured. Inform them of the facts and communicate the outcome.
2. Inform student aggressor's parent at sign out.
■ If parent is not at sign out:
■ Email parent
■ Follow­up call ● Extreme Physical aggression:
1. Separate children safely with help of site staff or Teaching Artist.
2. Immediately call security 646­812­9750 and inform them of students and location. 3. Remain with children until security or HVA staff arrive.

3. INCIDENT REPORTS: Injuries involving any of the following require an Incident
Report by Teaching Artist or site staff by END OF DAY:
● Head or neck
● Ice packs
● Fluids (excessive crying or tantrums can be included)

SUPPORTING and CELEBRATING Students:
● Site staff should positively and professionally communicate with parents about students' successes and struggles.
● Parents who need to be spoken with and who do not arrive at pick up should receive:
○ Email
○ Follow­up call
● WEDNESDAY WEEKLY MEETINGS: Assistant Site Directors are responsible for
communicating
