THE HUNTED HOUSE

Nobodydared to go in empty house in an isolated part of the village . Eventually, the landscape of the empty house was shady, lush and green, no one is brave enough to hunt for wildfigs. The beautiful and evergreen nature surrounding the empty house was damp and soggy always. After the F.Sc examinations, my peers and I decided to go for camping the empty house since we had enough of studying books and would like to investigate about the mystery of that house. It was supposed to be a two days camping trip. We equipped ourselves with the necessary camping gear and enough food to last for the two days. We walked deep inside the village and reached at a huge and old empty house. As soon as we arrived there, Hammad approaches all of us to enter the house since the journey was quite difficult and tiring. We stepped in the house to fill our empty stomachs with the food that we had brought but we realized that the condition of the house was incredibly dirty and dusty. The ceiling was fully covered with spider webs whereas the floor was covered with dried leaves. Hence, we managed to clear up the place before start eating our meal. Then, we went walking around the house and suddenly Hammad started screaming “Aww!!!”. He saw a "human skull" inside a drawer. All of us were astonished with the discovery of "human skull" in the mystery house. At that moment, we could feel our blood stream was flushing and cold. All of us quickly rushed out of the house and decided to go back home. It was our badluck because it was raining and falling snow heavily outside. We had no choice but to wait until the rain stops. Fear was written on all our face, especially since we had discovered a human skull! All of us were in low spirits. Even Hammad was silent and nervous who is actually a noisy maker in our group. The hours dragged past but the rain continued.

In 1982, the McBride House was purchased by the last owners Chris and Cindy Black. When they first moved in, they started to notice a few strange things around the home. One night, they assumed they must have left the television set turned on. It sounded as if there was a party going on downstairs – voices, laughter, and the ‘clink’ of Champaign glasses. Heading downstairs to turn off the television, it went to dead silence. The TV was off, lights off, there was no one in sight.…

Snow started to shower as if on a peaceful rainy night and I look for any opening, trying to escape this creature that was following me. I could make out a large building figure ahead and ran directly to it, exhorting my energy as I advanced through the shivers in my body and aching bloodstained legs. An old tainted church-like mansion appeared as the fog cleared and I forced my way up the frigid sleet hill and onto a rusty pavement beside the building. I leaned upon the 5-metre tall wooden door trying to hear any sound coming from inside the outsized building, trying to sense any civilisation as the sky slowly turned into a rich black shade. I knocked onto the polished door, trying to depict a reaction from the owner that might've lived in this secluded place. Lights started to rapidly appear above the door and forming a luminous loop around the entire mansion, whilst the door blew open with such force that I was knocked back onto my spine. I tried to scamper away on my knees as a spine-chilling sensation started to form from what was a supernatural…

The introduction of this book outlines for the reader just who exactly Abraham and Mary Lincoln were. Abraham Lincoln himself was an honest, fair man who happened to rely heavily on superstition, and he believed strongly in the power of dreams. His wife, Mary, was a woman who often held séances in the White House and more often than that found herself with a shopping bag. However, they were both equally devoted to each other and their country.…

The old house saw the rearing of four brothers and their adopted sister. However, one of these days it, too, will give way and it will no longer be home to those who hold it in their fondest memories. But, of course, an empty house is no longer a home. It’s just the place or the house where home used to be. What remains are the lives of those who were touched by those dear ones who lived there.…

I believe that Relationships are the connections between people which can be expressed in many different ways or situations. In the poem ‘manhunt’ by Simon Armitage he explores the relationship between a wife and her husband, whom is an injured solider who has returned from war. In nettles, the relationship is between a farther and his son who has fallen into a "bed of nettles." Both poets show the consideration felt by the reader of the poem for the other person in the relationship. In the manhunt, the narrator’s consideration is for the mental suffering which her husband is suffering. Similar to Manhunt; in ‘Nettles’ it is the father’s care for the injuries of his son which he feels was caused by the nettles.…

Being the black sheep of the family isn’t fun because it gives your whole family an exclusive free pass to point out your flaws, differences, and mistakes. June 22, 2015, a day I can never forget nor suppress no matter how hard I try. My family decided it would be nice to all get together at my grandma’s house for a family dinner since some time has passed since we really bonded. I wasn’t all that thrilled to go but had no choice but to go, when we got there everything I was told to go help cook. Being told to go help cook wasn’t the problem, the real problem was the reason for having to go help cook was because I’m a female meaning I’m ‘required’ to cook and clean for the male species. This annoyed me because we live in the time where all…

The hour and a half drive to Villisca from my home in Nebraska was filled with farms, corn, and little else. We turned down the quiet residential street that our destination was on, and compared to its neighbors the Axe Murder House looked like it was from a different time. It stood two stories tall and desperately needed another coat of white paint. The windows and doors were all firmly covered as if the contents of the house were a secret. The caretaker gave us the key, and we were now only waiting for the August sun to set.…

What is that? A hut? Is there someone there? Thoughts racing through my mind I run toward it, straight to the door. Nervous, we stop when we get to the door. What if no one is here? Just as we were turning to walk away the door opens and we turn back to see two people standing in the doorway.…
