In this case, there is a 15 year old boy named Richard, going through some confusing times in his life, where he is trying to figure out who he is. Without knowing it himself, it’s not easy for him to let others know what’s going on. He is feeling constant pressure in trying to find out, as well as his mom keeps asking him to open up. Non-Maleficence “first, do no harm”, in the sense that the doctor nor Richard are trying to do no harm to anyone, that’s why Richard isn’t letting his mom know about his potential homosexuality until he is completely sure, so that she won’t feel confused and if he turns out to be homosexual, then he will be sure with it and he will be able to show his mom...
