Strategic human resource management:-
It   deals with utilizing human resources in a manner that enables a firm to reap long term benefits, in terms of profits, core competence and other goals. The definitions of the term 'Strategic Human Resource Management' as per Miles & Snow, 1984, is mentioned below.

"A human resource system that is tailored to the demands of the business strategy."

According to Wright & McMahan, 1992, Strategic Human Resource Management refers to:

"The pattern of planned human resource activities intended to enable an organization to achieve its goals.
It is designed to help organizations best meet the needs of their employees while promoting company goals and aims. It also deals with any aspects of a business that affects employees, such as hiring and firing, pay, benefits, training, and administration.
Strategic human resource management is the proactive management of people. It requires thinking ahead, and planning ways for a company to better meet the needs of its employees, and for the employees to better meet the needs of the company. This can affect the way things are done at a business site, improving everything from hiring practices and employee training programs to assessment techniques and disciplines.
Strategic human resource management (SHRM) is a concept that integrates traditional human resource management activities within a firm's overall strategic planning and implementation.
