The aspect of leadership is based on influence and there is no yardstick that measure the inborn trait of leadership. Management and leadership are two sides of the same coin though management is characterized to meet the goals and objectives but leadership comes through charisma and biological trait. Managers must organise workers, not just to maximize efficiency, but to nurture skills, develop talent and inspire results.Chapin(1924) noted that managers facilitate, control, plan and organize to achieve their obligation.
Thereforethe essay is going to adumbrate and expagorate the contestation that managers are not leaders and leaders are not managers.

A manager is person who controls the professional activities of a performer and the same time will be a person in charge of the activities, tactics, and training. Managers are mostly the directors who help to establish the cohesiveness of an organization. Warren (1989) advocated that a manager`s job is to plan, organize and coordinate. The leader is to inspire and motivate. Hence managers are not leaders and leaders are not managers.

Leadership and management goes hand in hand. they are not the same thing. But they are necessary linked, and complementary. According to “Warren” the manager administrates and maintains whilst a leader innovates and develops in an organizational field. A leader has a vision, a number of visions , or is creating visions in other words
