Human resource plan, sometimes people called it workforce plan, it is a clear and accurate plan to predict and prepare for the changes from an organization. This includes recruitments, trainings, retirement and the changes of the management and required skill of incumbents. The aim is to maximize options and minimize risks in both now and in the future. In order to create a human resource plan there are majority of things that the firm have to be taken into account, this included business objectives (long-term), demand for labor, and the internal and external supply of labor.
Before make a workforce plan, it must consider the future business objectives, long-term aims, to know about which sort of workforce that the business will need in order to achieve the aims. After it, the firm needs to take account on the demand of the labor. To part out what staff do the business need to achieve the objectives, such as the number of staff, sort of skills and the where the people come from. Then it needs to be considered in the internal and external factors of the labor supply. Internally, the firm need to think over the staff which the firm now have, see whether they are suitable for the future needs or not. For example, does the firm have enough or too many staff? Do they have the right skills and how to train them effectively? , etc .External supply of labor is some factors which not under control of the firm, this included political, economic, social, technological and legal. For instance, there are some new technological was put out. Does the firm need to recruit new staff or just to provide some training to the staff?
