Executive Summary
From the beginning till the end of this assignment, it has been a great experience. The major constrain I faced during the process of completing this assignment was to get the information about the UK government initiatives. However, with the available information, I have tried my level best to complete this assignment productively. Firstly, it talks about the learning theories and styles. How important is learning curve to ASDA’. The necessary explanation and arguments are forward where it is necessary throughout the assignment. Secondly, it talks about the ASDA’s different techniques in order to identify their training needs for staff at different levels. After that the evaluation of various methods that ASDA uses in the training and development program were discussed and the effective judgments has been made. And also the as a HRD manager it has been critically evaluated the factors to considered when planning a training development programs for international and local staff. Third, it talks about the importance of evaluation of training programs and the factors to be considered when conducting the evaluation, and the on-the-job and off-the-job training techniques ASDA uses to develop their colleagues at all levels. Finally it includes the Role of UK government in training and development, how the development of competency movement has impacted on both public and private sectors and how the contemporary training initiatives have been compared with Srilankan government initiatives.
