Executive Summary
This document commences with a background of the issue of Succession Planning at Universal Trust Services (UTS) and how it can be lined to the company’s cost reduction strategy. Succession Planning is explained in the report along with the benefits to be derived from grooming leaders internally.

The focus is on how Succession Planning can result in tremendous cost savings to the organisation. Noe, Hollenbeck, Gerhart, and Wright 6th ed. (2008) along with other literature is used to substantiate the position outlined to the organisation.

The information leads to the conclusion that it would be prudent for the organisation’s Executive Management to take steps to implement the Succession Plan Programme within the organisation. A phase approach is recommended for

implementation over a maximum period of two to three years.
