Reviewing the path that food follows through The Digestive System which contends the month, stomach, small intestine, and large intestine and how digestion occurs in each of the following parts of the digestive system is part of living life. The digestion and absorption of a meal illustrates the digestion of each carbohydrate that people eat is process into smaller starches. The breakdown of proteins, sugars, fats into fatty acids, fiber, amino acids, and gas is part of the digestive system. To discuss the description of our digestive system it start with our salivary glands which begins the process at the sight. Each food that is entering in our mouth is moistened by saliva and is being chewed by our teeth is transforms into a bolus.   After bolus leaves from the mouth, it processes into our pharynx where it is being swallowed into the esophagus, which connects to the stomach. After it is reach to the stomach, it is mixed with acid secretions that turns into chime. When the food is digested in the stomach, it give our digestion system between two to six hours to be empty from food from the stomach and goes thought the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas because they are proximity close into the stomach. Then the next digestive process reaches into the small intestine it absorbs of nutrients from the food that takes place. The materials that are not absorbed enter into the large intestine through a sphincter that keeps all material from the large intestine form reentering into the small intestine. What is not absorbs in the large intestine is being wasted from the rectum that opens the digestive tract where the feces is eliminated for the body. [continues]
