1.           What are the different forms of social media that exist today? Provide examples of different social media and their primary purposes.
Social media is a very popular way of communication now. There are many types of social media. You have blogging, forums, and many different types of social networks, and sites to share video games. The social networks I can think about are Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter. With these sites you can check out family members, friends, and keep in touch with your loved ones. You could also start a business, or simply try to expand it by using these few sites. If you have people you don’t want looking at your pages, you could simply block them so they can’t have access to your page. You can also post videos on sites such as Youtube, in which you can also communicate with people.

2. What are the greatest benefits of social media for individuals and society?
There are many benefits of social media for individuals and the society. For sites such as Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter, you can simply start instant messages with each other, which works great. If you have a question, want to say hey, or simply check up on someone then that’s the best way to go. You don’t have to wait minutes, or hours all you have to do is send a message and it takes seconds. You can also have access to sites like this right on your cell phone which makes it a lot faster, easier and more convenient to someone who is always on the go.

3. What are the greatest problems of social media for individuals and society?
Social media can cause many problems. Simply because anyone is allowed to post anything, even if it isn’t true. I strongly believe that the greatest problems of social media for individuals and society are lies that are started, rumors that get passed, and how easily someone can hack into your account.
