Merging with EnviroTech, InterClean has taken a big step to not only sell cleaning products but evolve into an environmental friendly full-service cleaning business. With this change comes developing a plan to help the company succeed. It is important for all of the employees know exactly what their jobs are and how to interact with each other with all the changes taking place. As a midlevel manager it is my job to make sure that a job analysis for each job is in place, describe the workforce planning system, and create a team who will represent the new direction the company is taking. Job analysis is “a description of the work to be done, the skills needed, and the training and experience required for various jobs,” (Cascio, 2005). With the merge it is imperative that each of the employees know exactly what they will be doing. It is going to be a hard transition for everyone involved. Each employee is used to doing a certain job a certain way and with the merge everyone will have to adapt to the change. Human resource will have a lot of work to do to get the job analysis in place and organize the training that will need to be implemented. There will be a few job analysis methods I would use to get the employee feedback on how they would like to see things done in the new business. The interview method is one that I would prefer. It will get me face to face with each employee. This method does have its disadvantages and one is it can be time consuming. To overcome this disadvantage would be to realize that employees will know that their feedback is very important to the success of the company. As a manager it is also important to have the employees fill out questionnaires. Even though this method may not be the most accurate, it will give the business an idea of what the employees are feeling and where they would like to see the company go in the future.
