Information systems has been defined as “a set of interrelated components that collect, process, store, retrieve and distribute data or/information in an organization referred to above facilitates decision making and control in an organization” The data or information referred to above facilitates decision making and control in an organisation and hence being crucial to organizational management and performance. It can therefore be said that the system of managing the collection, processing, storage, retrieval and distribution of data and information is what is termed as Management Information Systems.
