How to overcome individual-level resistance to organizational changes
Organization change is prevalent, we cannot avoid failure in working, it is just the question about sooner or later. When we met frustration,we have to take steps to alter the environment.Thus, change in organization is a necessary result of standstill.
However, where there is change, there is resistance to change. Lectures show that resistance of employees is always the largest barrier for the organization who want to take a change to develop further .To solve the relationship of the forces of change and resistance, choosing suitable methods and strategies is very important.
This paper draws attention on why individuals have resistance to change and how to overcome this resistance of employees.
The purpose of this paper is to discuss and figure out organization change . Organization change is methods organization takes to have a better development for the company in order to survive.(George & Jones, 2008 ).
To face the irresistible force, many problems are in front of managers and employees which are full of challenges. In this paper, the trend of change is first introduced to make a glance of how important it is to face the changing problem. Then ,some examples are offered to show that resistance to change is also impossible to avoid in nowadays. This research mainly concentrate on individual resistance to change and how can mangers lead the employees to overcome the changes for better development of the organization.
Change is prevalent
“Changing is the continuous process of an organization attempting to align itself with shifts in its marketplace and with the realities external financial, physical, social, political, and technological environment. ” by Jeff Evans and Chuck Schaefer who talked about it in the book Ten Task of Change: Demystifying Changing Organizations.(Litch, Bonnie, 2005). Organization change means that in order to survive, an organization takas a change of its present state and set up some desired future state to make the company itself much more effectiveness .(George & Jones, 2008 ). Companies needs change if they want to keep in competing in today’s market.(Management Review, 1972). Operating an organization with changes take place at any time requires managers good abilities of communication, control and making brief strategies.
A good case of Agricultural Bank of China Limited shows the important of organizational change . Agricultural Bank of China Limited shorten as ABC is one of “the big four” bank of China. It use to support the development of farming industry in china many decades ago. With the development of society and economy. For the former purpose , ABC concentrate on provide capital to farmers who make their live s o n farming. For many reasons, the income of farmers are very unstable, it raised the opportunity of The high rate of bad debts of ABC for almost 30 years. It deeply threaten the survival of the bank. ABC was facing a big problem and had to make a transform.
Finally the bank changed the shareholding system step by step . The bank changed the form from government-owned bank to a joint-equity commercial bank. And began to sell its own stocks all over the world. The bad-debt rate goes down continuously and at the same time ,capital grows with steady steps.

Exhibit 1 shows steadily growth of ABC,the bank took the step of change during the year 2005. From the year they decided to change , they made good performance on recalling debt and investment. Under that influence, the bank received nice annual reports and continue to benefit from then on.
