HOW TO MAKE MIRI TO BECOME AN EDUCATIONAL HUB CITY
EDUCATION is the responsibility but also a role for government and Malaysian people to provide a sound and a chances for every under graduates to proceed themselves to the higher level of education in local and private universities at all over the places in Malaysia. The Malaysian educational system encompasses in beginning pre-school to university. There are two types of education which applied; Pre-tertiary education (pre-school to secondary education) is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education (MOE) while the tertiary or higher education is the responsibility of the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). The vision of the Government is to make Malaysia a centre of educational excellence.
Why Malaysia must develop into an education hub? The main reason is to evolve into an education hub is only natural and logical in an economic sense. It is also necessary for the long term viability of our economy. We have a good economy in services about one of the best in the in Asia, and the most valuable part of our service economy is in business and professional services, which is of course heavily
Knowledge-based. As a knowledge-based economy, we face intense competition, both present and emerging like Singapore. Clearly, our economic future depends on our ability to continue to become the chain as a regional service hub, which in turn hinges on our ability to groom and attract talents both locally and internationally. In that sense, Malaysia to strive to become a higher education hub is only a natural and
necessary step in our long term economic development process.
Malaysia needs to develop high level skills, and it has to do with our skewed demographics and labour force. Even though Malaysia is known to have a highly sophisticated economy, the fact is that we also have an unusually large pool of low skilled labour.
