How to Install Ntl Maps in Vista

  Introduction to ntlmaps (not the theoretical one)
  There are two types of ntlmaps available in LAN
  1. ntlmaps in 20 secs.(works as it is on vista)
  2. ntlmaps in 1 min.(this does not work as it is on vista)
  Well that’s not a great distinction as such but the point is the first one requires you to keep open a dos command prompt window each time you want use ntlmaps whereas the second one, once done is done for all i.e. you can forget ever after about ntlmaps unless of course you need to reinstall it.

  Well the first one works as it is in windows vista (by as it is I mean as it is described by plague boy in the ntlmaps for dummies. PDF)

  As it is always painful to have an extra window open in the taskbar doing the installation once for all is advisable and my job after this fart is to help you do that.

  Installing in vista
  first download the folder by name ntlmaps in 1 min from LAN
  The procedure is essentially same as it is in xp and described elaborately on LAN   except for a little extra exercise that you need to do in the beginning:
  That exercise
  1. Turn user account control off
  2. Proceed with the installation as it is described in the PDF ntlmaps for dummies.(of course to get that PDF as well as everything else, first download the folder by name ntlmaps in 1 min from LAN)
  3. If you wish,   turn the user account control on after finishing the installation.

  How to turn user account control off:
  This is rather silly to explain but is done here just to make it complete (The following images are self explanatory)
  1. Open control panel:

  2. Open the user account control in control panel

  3. Open Turn user account control off:

4. Uncheck the box:

5. Restart user system:
[pic]

After your system restarts continue installation as described in ntlmaps for dummies. PDF.
