How to get the best results from VoIP

In this project, the discussion will be on how to get the best results from VoIP. Firstly, use the four basic rules in selecting the right Codec. Rule one; using band with 64k or less one must use G.729, G. in choosing 723 or alternative one determines the right Codec to use for VoIP? In making the choice of what codec to use in VoIP, low bandwidth codec. Rule two; use the best codec possible by decreasing the Mean Opinion Score. Rule three; Use of more than one compression codec can seriously affect call quality so avoid where possible. Rule four; use of G.711u will result in a small amount of call quality degradation due to transcoding. Secondly, why should one use G727 for VoIP? This objective is to get the best results for VoIP by embedding 2-bit quantizer to 3-bit quantizer, and the same for the higher modes. This permits the dropping of the least significant bit from the bit stream without any adverse effect on speech signals. Thirdly, why should one use UDP? Most often, UDP applications do not employ reliability mechanisms. Streaming media and voice over IP are examples of applications that often use UDP. In these particular applications, loss of packets is not usually a fatal problem. In conclusion, to get the best results for VoIP Firstly, use the four basic rules in selecting the right Codec, Secondly why should one use G727 for VoIP, and thirdly why should one use UDP? This is the foundation to gain the best results in the use of VoIP.

For my project, the problem statement would be how one could always obtain the best results for VoIP In obtaining this result the four basic rules in selecting the right Codec. Every video that we shoot on tape or every video that can be seen on television has been compressed. From the beginning of videos this been the case. HDV and DV videos are compressed greatly in many different ways. Then there is the DigiBetacam that has a smaller compression. There is a reason for the compression for video files. These video files are extremely large, and the engineers continuously seek different ways to condense them and not loose quality. This is why there is a need for codecs.

There are four main goals to consider when making the choice of codecs, which are below. 1.The size of the compressed file
2.The speed of compression
3.The speed of decompression
4.The quality of the final image

A good example of this would be when using the internet, it is great importance placed on what is the decompression speed, and the size of the files. These two things have more significance than the length of time it takes to decompress. It is also more important than the final image quality.
