Let me start with your request for   ‘how to improve:’   re-read the Class Announcement entitled, “How to be Successful .   .   .” the announcement provides 5 guiding points that you should follow in all online classes.   I will go into more detail by writing about ‘exam strategy’ and the ‘importance of our textbook’ with this message, also.



Importance of our textbook:     First, in a very objective fashion, compare the amount of time per week you spend in a traditional face-to-face course and how much time you spent last week in our course.   I do not know what the answer is but my suggestions is that you should plan on spending ‘more time on an online delivered course’ than in a traditional course.   The reason:   all study is dependent on you---in a traditional course the lecture and even hall way conversations with class-mates may help you understand the material.   In online delivered courses, the learning framework rests on reading and more reading.   For online courses, the time you spend should be spent with your textbook; it is the most important resource you have in this course.  



I have provided you within each Lesson several items that I hope will help you.   In no way, however, do I intend the online material to replace or substitute for intense reading and study of our Chapter material.   One of the uses of material in our Lesson’s Table of Contents is to: Check Your Knowledge of the Chapter Material.   After you have read the chapter and prior to your taking the Chapter Quiz, I suggest that you go to the Chapter Flash Card link and check your understanding of the chapter's key terms and concepts.   Do you have a through, complete understanding of the Chapter’s key concepts and terms?   Asked differently, did you get 100% or 70% of the Flash card correct?   If you score is anything less than 100%, perhaps you need to read the chapter again—prior to taking the Chapter Quiz?
