The world’s population is growing. We have over 7 billion people living across the world, while just 309 million of those people are living here in the United States (U.S. Census Bureau, 2010). The climate, water availability, energy issues and scarcity of land are affecting traditional harvests all across the country (Tia & Parsons, 2002). In addition technology runs our country from the computers that control our infrastructure to the trucks, planes and trains that deliver all the goods to a far flung network of stores and shops. Just in time for you to buy those eggs after work so you can have breakfast in the morning. In a country that has just in time inventory (Siegel & Shim, 2006, p. 85-86) and production of goods and services geographically located (von Braun, 2009) and a country that imports more food and goods than it produces (CIA, 2010) & (See also Appendixes B &C). What would happen if just one leg of the beast were to get broken? The fundamental issue is how many meals are we away from anarchy?

Imagine if you will, a group of people sitting in a rented warehouse, surrounded by a few thousand dollars worth of Wal-Mart computers. This group of people, Arab and Chinese terrorists has just sent a virus containing shut down codes and containing wipe and propagate commands. (The Library of Congress-RL32114, at 31, 2003).This virus will shut down every power generating station and all computer control systems for every oil refinery and pumping station in the United States. In addition, it will format every hard drive that it comes into contact with and jump from the computer it is on to the next reachable one on the network.
