The legendary Dolly Parton, an admired character from Sevierville, Tennessee, has stunned many crowds with her magical, captivating lyrics accompanied by her unforgettable soulful and joyful country singing voice – Dolly is the meaning of “hot”. She is currently one of the most fruitful, gifted, and unique artists in today’s entertainment culture. Dolly Parton, the queen of country music, was encouraged by Johnny Cash to go where her heart took her and not to care what others thought; a piece of advice that not only affected her wondrous ability to sing, but her fans as well. This legendary advice helped fans to see themselves as equally able to be successful as Dolly, making her an icon that was looked – up to by many. Additional to this, Cash’s piece of advice also helped her success in the sense that it gave her an estimated of 100 million in album sales. Dolly’s initial success originated as a songwriter through one of her singles, “I Will Always Love You”. It caught the attention of many great legends including Elvis Presley, and was made famous by Whitney Houston. Her successful musical career has earned her numerous recognitions including eight Grammy Awards, three American Music Awards, ten awards at the Country Music Association, and seven awards at the Academy of Country Music. Also in 1984, she was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Dolly Parton is one of the most honoured female country performers of all time. Furthermore, aside from working onstage, Dolly is also an author, a philanthropist, an actress and a businesswoman.
