Hopes & Dream
My Hopes & Dreams

Everyone wants to become successful in the future, right? When you were younger, you were always asked, “What do you want become when you grow up?” Some said a princess, rich, a singer, a fashion designer and even to fly! (Literally). But as we are growing up, that question will be asked again. Yet this time seriously. Some said a doctor, an MP, an architect, etc. But in order to achieve this, you must work hard for it. Many people dream but don’t believe, whilst believers are dreaming even bigger.

When I was younger, I’ve always had a fairy-tale like dream about my future. To marry my prince, have a fairy Godmother, be a princess… But now, all of that has changed. I’ve realised how hard life is now; that life cannot be like a fairy-tale. What you want can’t happen just like that. I want something more realistic, practical and down to Earth. I can’t put faith in my fairy Godmother; I have to work for my goals. Magic isn’t going to help everything.
Hope is something everyone needs.

As I have mentioned earlier, everyone wants to become successful in the future. I do also; I want to go University, yet I haven’t decided what for so far. I want to grow up and make my Parents proud, especially when my Dad’s up there watching over me. I want to be happy. But every step I take, has the potential of changing my entire path, where my life is leading. So I must live life to the full, no matter what.
Hope is something everyone needs.

My list of Hope and Dreams can go on forever, but one ‘Hope’ I find significant is:
‘Hoping there will be a day when Cancer, is just a Zodiac sign.’
Cancer continues to be a major disease in many countries. The numbers of those dying from Cancer in the world are increasing. It is estimated that 7.2 to 7.5 million people worldwide die from Cancer each year. Some people in this room may know someone who has either died from Cancer or has Cancer. I pray for those who are fighting through such a tough battle, to

Everyone is asked one question, at a very young age. That question is: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” There isn’t a time I can remember when an adult didn’t ask me this question. When I was six, I would respond with the usual movie star, fashion designer, or veterinarian. My answer would be said confidently, as at this age I walked through life as if it were no big deal. My answer occasionally changed to fit with my many childhood phases, but my view on the question stayed the same. When I was a child, I replied to this inquiry the same way everyone else did; I answered with an occupation. It took me years to discover my new approach to this question. My new response did not include my dream job, but how I saw myself in the future.…

Hope is always there for a person when it is needed. All they have to do is find the hope inside them. When a person finds that hope, he or she can accomplish the impossible. Still, when there is no hope inside someone, but people around him have hope, it helps him or her receive that hope, which helps that person achieve recovery or a dream. Even when hope is not so strong, just that little bit can help a person pull through, by helping others get well or giving a momentum, such as a ring, to bring someone’s spirits up. Hope can allow a person to create something like a traffic jam in order to achieve a goal. A person can be successful after so many years of failure because of the hope that lingers inside of him to make something great. Having hope forces a person not to give up. It is what helps keep people alive and gives them something to strive for. With hope, there is a reason to keep on trying and a reason never to give up. It is the belief that things will be better and inspires people to move on. With hope, dreams stay alive and make better…

We all have our childhood dreams - whether it was to become an astronaut, firefighter, photographer or even a professional athlete. However, not many people actually follow these dreams. It may have been due to the fact that your interests may have changed as you grew older, or you could not dedicate the time and effort needed to achieve the goal. In Langston Hughes poem, “Dream Deferred (Harlem),” he uses metaphors and imagery to not only portray how much of a burden a dream can be, but also how positive of an impact it can make on your life.…

While getting older you travel to different stages of life, and for a long time in your life you only dream of things you would like to become. For instance, when I was just a little boy around the age of eight I dreamed about becoming the president of The Netherlands. My teacher would always say wake up! Stop living in this fantasy world be realistic. But I kept on dreaming about becoming something important. I looked up to people with important jobs, how they communicate or give presentations and speeches to enormous crowds. That inspired me. But there comes a time when you are forced to stop dreaming at least when you are awake. And that moment came when I left high school. I began to realize that the time to think about my future profession had arrived. I had to think about a job and make that right choice, and then you realize that it is not that easy as: I want to be a doctor, pilot or even a president. You have to choice different paths, will I become a doctor or an economist and you realize you can’t be both. And you ask yourself the question, what do I want to be when leaving school? I was once one of those children who had almost given up in finishing my studies. With the seemingly endless promissory notes and unsettled tuition fee, I began asking myself, “Will my dreams of being successful ever be a reality? Or will it forever be a mere dream?” There were a lot of reasons for me to answer “Yes, give up, this is the end,” however, I realized that my dreams are better once transformed to reality, my faith is stronger than my doubts, and my God is bigger than all these problems. I decided not to let my dreams slip away, that I will one day stop chasing it and instead get a hold of it. I will hold on to that flicker of hope no matter how impossible it may seem. This is the reason why I am standing in front of you today. I never and will never give up on my dreams.…
