HMUN the netherlands
The Netherlands is part of the NATO, but not all of the countries of the European Union are members of it. So what my country proposes is that The European Union should create a peaceful treaty between the NATO and the EU members of this alliance, to break the military relations, so we can stop depending on USA, Canada and other countries that are not part of the European Union.
Europe should take responsibility for itself. This gives rise to the common refrain of Mr. Kashmeri and some analysts: if the EU is anything like a state, it will step up and take control of its own military destiny.
As an important continent, we should improve our militarization by stop depending on the other countries and start producing weapons in our continent, create a campus where all the countries’ strategists gather together and between those 28 countries discuss about the plans, attacks, etc., that way we could reach to be not only a high economy potential but a military potential; too.
It is better to be separated from the other countries because we don’t have to car eabout other continents, just focus on making ours the best.

Committee: European Union

Topic Area A: Joint Militarization

The Netherlands is part of the NATO, but not all of the countries of the European Union are members of it. So what my country proposes is that The European Union should create a peaceful treaty between the NATO and the EU members of this alliance, to break the military relations, so we can stop depending on USA, Canada and other countries that are not part of the European Union.
Europe should take responsibility for itself. This gives rise to the common refrain of Mr. Kashmeri and some analysts: if the EU is anything like a state, it will step up and take control of its own military destiny.
Playing the role of Europe, we should improve our militarization by stop depending on other countries and start producing weapons in our continent, create a campus where all the countries’ strategists gather together and between those 28 countries discuss about the plans, attacks, etc., that way we could reach to be not only a high economy potential but a military potential; too.

Topic Area B: Freedom of Expression

the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union
The Netherlands has among the highest distribution of print media in the world, with an average of at least one national newspaper printed for every 100 households in
2004

Part two:
From the two movies, I chose The Great Debaters. I found it more interesting because of the races discrimination and because it’s based in another age. If I’d to compare my skills with the characters of the movies, I would say that I’m mostly like James Farmer Jr. because he was always open to learn new things and strategies, besides he never gave up on becoming a good speaker even though he failed the first time, he learnt from his mistakes and reached his goal and won a price in Harvard. In comparison with Samantha, we both have that open minded and trying new things spirit; in her case she was an ice breaker because no Negro women had ever applied before to the debate team and she got in without letting other people stop her.
I can say I have the skill to convince people as well as James Farmer Sr. when he made the officer release Mr. Tolson from detention.
And finally I can certify I’m totally Hamilton Burgess’ opposite, because he quit in the middle of the way reaching his goal. If you’re going to do something, do it complete, because if you’re going to do them halfway it is NONSENSE.
The three skills that we could apply in HMUN are:
1) Think out loud and don’t let other people make your opinion down. Just be sure of your idea
2) Try your best and that way you’ll go far, if you’re going to have a negative mind, you will not go far. Success is a progress and if you do nothing about it you’re going to remain in the same place
3) Confidence is the key. If you are not confident of your speech, why would other people be? Be concrete with your ideas and be coherent.

Why should they separate?
The European Union should create a peaceful treaty and break military relations with the NATO so we can stop depending on USA and Canada.
By being independent, we can create an EU military training center so all the personnel could go there and create strategies.
Why shouldn’t they separate? for financial support
Joint Militarization could be a new way to bring member states together, especially since the sovereign debt crisis is bringing the economic competences of the EU into question. This committee topic includes a number of crises that would require decisive military actions.

The Netherlands thinks that The European Union should create a treaty for us to separate from the NATO’s. By being disassociating of the United States of America and Canada we can create our own military and become an independent state.
That way we can bring our members states closer.
The Dutch Criminal Code § 137(c) criminalizes:[62]
… deliberately giving public expression to views insulting to a group of persons on account of their race, religion, or conviction or sexual preference.

At issue where Europe is concerned is the fissure that has arisen in NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization). France and Germany's opposition to a U.S.-led war against Iraq has brought into question the very essence of NATO. By thwarting NATO's ability to protect Turkey (a NATO member) against attack in the war, France and Germany have broken a central tenet of the NATO Charter—that an attack against one NATO member is an attack against all NATO members. While attempting to create a counterweight to U.S. power, France and Germany may succeed in shattering an alliance that the Soviet Union could not destroy. This may have serious consequences in the West's ability to wage a war on terrorism, and on future actions involving NATO. What is likely to emerge as a result is an enhanced role for individual European countries in international affairs, while the role of NATO could diminish with…

The European Union is a political and economic Union, which is collectively made up of twenty-eight European countries. The intention of the European Union is to foster economic and political cooperation between the member states, and “to make war not only unthinkable, but materially impossible.” (Schuman Doctrine) The belief of the European Union is that by promoting trade and interdependence between the member states, it will not only make them less likely to engage in war with each other, but it will also be against their best interests both politically and economically. Today, the European Union collectively possesses the world’s largest economy, is home to the world’s third largest population, and is the world’s largest exporter and…

Lately the question about the future of NATO arises more often in media and articles on foreign policy and international security. It is a question about its future "in general" - as the inquiry into the reasons for NATO’s existence in the modern world and the future "in detail", which is a problem for relevance of NATO member states. This last point is referring to the wider NATO mission – to make the classic function of collective defense and expeditionary new tasks undertaken at the end of the Cold War.…

As the world entered the twentieth-century Europe stood as sentinel to the world. Notable for its blossoming in the humanities and sciences, Europe was poised to assume a role as a model for the world. Protecting themselves from Communism and Nazism, and from the eminent danger of expansionism by the powers of Germany and Russia (Mazzeno) was, instead, what Europe would spend the first half of the twentieth-century managing.…
