The Danger of Ambition
Certain desires and hopes can be used for good purposes or can be detrimental to the individual. In the story “Macbeth” written by William Shakespeare their are two major characters that struggle with their emotions and several ambitions. Both Lady Macbeth and Macbeth have the idea of becoming both King and Queen and are willing to do whatever possible to have this power. In their goal to becoming King and Queen they both are to blame for several irrational killings. But the person most to blame for both the death and destruction that occurs would have to be Lady Macbeth. Lady Macbeth is most to blame because she feels the need for power, she is pressuring her husband into doing these deeds against his will, and she does not know what type of effects these deeds will bring to her conscience. Having ambition and desires can either turn out positively or be completely detrimental.

Lady Macbeth desires power and control because it does not matter to her who gets in her way. “Come, you spirit, unsex me here, And fill me, from the crown to the toe, top-full of direst cruelty. (1.5.40-43) This quote is just an example of how Lady Macbeth is not here for the good of things but instead just here for the feeling of power and control. This quote is also just another example of how she is in need for power and is willing to do anything for this. Lady Macbeth exercises her power through indirection, but what she does not know is that when her husband kills Duncan they both begin to slowly loose their control. Wanting power is good goal to have but when you have no remorse or no care of what you do to achieve it is where it beings to go south.

Lady Macbeth is also responsible for the tragic events that occur in the play because she is able to influence her husband into doing what she thinks is best rather than what he thinks. Having a woman control your life is never a good idea. "But screw your courage to the sticking...
