History Of KFC
KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) is a fast food restaurant chain headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, United States, which specializes in fried chicken and it is the world’s largest fried chicken chain. It primarily sells chicken pieces, wraps, salads and sandwiches. While its primary focus is fried chicken, KFC also offers a line of roasted chicken products, side dishes and desserts. KFC was found by the Col.Harland Sanders and began selling fried chicken at his gas station in the year 1939 in Corbin, Kentucky which subsequently moved to a motel. He closed his business in the late 1940s when the Interstate highway through town. In the early 1950s, he began traveling the United States and met with Pete Harman in Salt Lake City, Utah, and in 1952 co-founded the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant is the first in the world (his first restaurant does not use that name). Sanders sold the entire KFC franchise in 1964 worth 2 million USD, which has since been resold three times. Ultimate owner is PepsiCo, which incorporate them into the company Tricon Global Restaurants division, now known as Yum! Brands, Inc. The first KFC restaurant was opened in 1973 on Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman. It is in-charge by KFC Holdings (Malaysia) Berhad (KFCH). KFCH was incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act, 1965 on 22 December 1980 as a private limited company under the name of Poon Guan Holdings Sdn Bhd. The Company adopted its present name on 11 July 1986 and was converted to a public company on 13 March 1987. The Company was listed on the Main Board of the KLSE on 11 November 1988. KFC Holdings (Malaysia) (KFCH) is an investment holding company and part of QSR Brands. The company, through its subsidiaries, operates 523 KFC chains of restaurants in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei and 37 Rasamas chain of restaurants and convenience stores.
