Hip Dysplasia
Hip Dysplasia is an illness of “many names, once condition” (One Hip World) it means, that the hips joint aren’t aligned correctly, doctors found couple of things that causes Hip Dysplasia. The effects of Hip Dysplasia are well known, happens to babies and also adults. There are a couples of treatments that will help the babies; However some of the treatments are very painful for the kids. Hip Dysplasia can develop in three different ways. It can be around the time of the birth and during the childhood. Hip Dysplasia is also known as DDH (Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip). At the moment doctors think that the cause of DDH is the following: Based on the Hip International Institute a child that has DDH is 1-17 which is 6% of other children that might get DDH. If the parents have DDH their child can be at the risk of getting it too. 36% (1-3) might get DDH because the parents and child has DDH is a high risk of another child can get DDH. In another words 1 out of 10 newborn infant can be diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia all because someone in the family has it ( hipdysplasia.org) Also, the position of the baby when it is in the womb can increase the pressure on the hip joints in other words the ligaments are stretching. The ligaments of the baby girls are more stretchable than the boys. This means that girls have 4-5 mare chances to have Hip Dysplasia than a baby boy according to the Hip International Institute. There are four effects of Hip Dysplasia. First, Asymmetry is when the buttock are not symmetrical correct this can risk the chances of Hip Dysplasia on an infant. The infant must go through an ultrasound or X- Ray to study whether the hips are normal or not. When the thighs are folded this shows the gluteal are uneven.
