Heros

Heros according to the Merriam Webster Dictionary are: the principal male character in a literary or dramatic work.   In Greek mythology heros are: a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability.   However, some heros in Greek mythology heros were not perfect and had many flaws. Hercules over came those flaws to become a great hero. Hercules is the greatest Greek hero because of his over-sized emotions, bravery, and prudence.
Hercules had the quality of oversized emotions, this interfered with his every day life and often caused him trouble.   Due to Hera’s jealousy,she mad hercules go mad during this rage Hercules killed hie entire family. He went to become purifies after this and was willing to do what ever task was placed infant of him.” he went willing and ready to do anything that would make him pure again”(171). on another occasion   Hercules’ s   huge display of emotions caused him to battle death. when Hercules went to visit his friend,Admetus, he was unaware that his Admetus’s wife had just died, so Hercules drank, ate and partook in merry making until a servant told him the conditions of the house. Guilt over came him at once and he made the rash decision to bring Admetus spouse back from the dead.   Death and Hercules fought and Hercules eventually succeeded in bring his friend wife back from the dead. “‘ It is your wife I fought death for her and made him give her back.”’ Hercules’s over-sized emotions proved him to be a great hero because they magnified the proper and strength in which he did things and this caused him to prevail.
Bravery was a key trait that ensured Hercules' to be a great hero.
