Hero: A Person With Courage, Integrity, and Gratitude
A hero is a person admired for their courage, integrity, and gratitude. This person puts away self-desires to make others happy in difficult situations or circumstances. There are many different types of heroes because of how one may describe the person they look to as one. A lot of times people look up to those who do the impressive, noticeable deeds as heroic, but oversee those who do small, yet significant acts in life. If the small acts change someone’s life for the better that is a hero as well. A heroic person does something or things because they feel like they need to not because they have to. In the three readings, “From Bodega Dreams”, “Hard Rock Returns to Prison from the Hospital for the Criminal Insane”, and “The Train from Hate” all symbolizes a heroic person but in very different ways.
A hero to me is someone having the strength to stand up for what is right, even if they have to do it alone. To me this is someone that is using their courage strengths to overcome the unthinkable. I look at my brother as a hero. My older brother is one of my heroes because of the love he have and work he put forth in everything he do. For example, my brother works hard and goes above and beyond his job description. Everyone has to face fears in life, but a hero goes and eliminates difficulties with passion and ambition. Heroes to me are brave because they are faced with tough situations and still act anyway. Another one of my heroes is my father. My father was the family provider growing up and did everything it took to make everyone happy. My father sacrificed his whole life to see my family happy on numerous occasions and that is heroic to me. Heroes are also unselfish. Unselfish is putting the needs of others before one’s own. My son is my last hero. In most cases, if two parents split apart the mother is the primary nurturer for the children. My son acts as a mother and father to his children. Seeing my child provide each and every day make me so proud. All

A hero is not a person who is easily scared, gives up easily and selfish. In my opinion, when people are described as “hero” we neglect their bad behaviors, but this doesn’t imply to every hero we should be aware of such things because we all have our own flaws.…

The definition of a hero is a relatively simple one; a hero is someone who positively impacts others through their actions and accomplishments. While we all have different views on who exactly we see as a hero, there are certain individuals, such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Abraham Lincoln, who have undeniably changed the world and fit this definition. I have found that many of the individuals who society, and I personally, view as great heroes, share a certain set of traits that almost definitely had a large part in their accomplishments. This is why I believe that bravery, selflessness, and determination are three vital traits when it comes to defining what it means to be a hero.…

A hero is willing to overcome any challenge or obstacle with his head firmly planted on his shoulder. He puts himself whole heartedly into the task and doesn’t give up or back down, he puts his shoulders back and head up and goes into the challenge without looking back. A hero is also someone who acts with grace under pressure.
