Companies that use cloud computing can save a big amount of money, by not buying hardware and software that is required to backup and store companies data as the hardware and software is very expensive. Companies pay only for the use of cloud computing so they can store their data, applications and have access to their data from anywhere around the world. Cloud computing is also very cheap, saves business’ money and acts as a place to backup companies data incase of a company losing their data due to natural disasters or theft.
Advantage 2
Cloud Computing ensures 100 % up time. The cloud computing companies ensure users 100% uptime by providing redundant services. Business’ using cloud computing are guaranteed that they will never experience no down-time, which is very crucial as only a few minutes of downtime can cause a company to lose tremendous amounts of money.
Disadvantage 1
Security
Since cloud computing is a relatively new technology, there are no laws intact on the protection of data stored in the cloud. Hackers may find it easier to hack companies for their data since their data is on the Internet. By uploading data onto the cloud basically anyone can have access to a specific companies data, which could contain classified data.
Disadvantage 2
Lack of mobile Support
Only android users can currently access drive also known as Google docs. iOS version of Google docs release date is still unknown in 2012. Windows phone such as the HTC and Black Berry also haven’t released any information on being able to access Google drive applications, so for now only android mobile phones support Google drive.
