HOW TO WRITE RECOMMENDATION LETTER
When students apply to undergraduate or graduate programs in America, the application process usually includes at least two recommendations from teachers or professors who can honestly evaluate the student's academic ability and potential as a scholar. These letters count a lot in making the decision on whether or not to accept the student.
Tips for recommenders:
Occasionally students may ask you to write them a letter of recommendation–for graduate school, a summer job, or full-time employment.
First ask yourself if you know the student well enough to write a helpful recommendation. Then:
* What are your impressions of that student?
* Can you be honest in writing this letter?
If you have reservations, it is better to be straightforward with the student and explain your circumstance; positive letters of recommendation can still mention an applicant’s weaknesses.

Here are a few points to remember when writing a recommendation:
* Set up an appointment to meet with the student, asking him or her to bring a resume as well as any work from your class.
