Volume of a single = 170cm cubed
Volume of cylinder = ∏r squared
Height= volume Divided by ( ∏r squared)
Height= 170cm divided by (∏ x 3 squared)
Height = 6.01 round of to 6cm

Allowing 1 extra cm for room

Top and bottom of cylinder = 6cm + 1cm
= 7cm
Height= 6cm + 1cm
= 7cm

Total surface Area= area of base + area of top + Area of circle

= (∏r squared) + (∏r squared) +( ∏ x Diameter x height) = (∏ x 3.5 squared) +(∏ x 3.5 squared) +(∏ x7x7)
= 230.90cm cubed

C squared = A squared + B squared
B squared = C squared - a squared
B squared = the square root of 7 squared - 4.45 squared

Volume of triangular prism = B x h divided by two
Height = Volume divided by B x h divided by two Height = 170 divided by 5.4 x 4.45 divided by two Height = 14.15cm

Allowing 0.5cm for more room for chips

Sides of triangle become = 7 + 0.5cm, 4.45 + 0.5cm, 5.4 + 0.5cm = 7.5cm, 4.95cm, 5.9cm Height = 14.15cm + 1cm
= 15.15cm

Thankyou for letting me have this opportunity to create a economical package for your chips. I have created a package for both type of chips and a multi pack box to deliver them to the shops.

The package for potato chips has a height of 7cm and a width and a diameter of 7cm. I have allowed 1 extra cm to allow room to eat the chips. My working out is shown in appendix 1a and the net in 1b. The package of the corn chips has been fitted into a triangular prism. The height of the prism is 15.15cm. the base of bottom of top triangles are 5.9cm. I have allowed one extra cm for room. The working out is in appendix 2a and the net is in 2b.
