ObamaCare
ObamaCare is the official name for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The bull was signed by the President on March 23, 2012. It provides affordable healthcare insurance to millions of uninsured people, and reduces the growth in healthcare spending. The ObamaCare Healthcare bill was created to provide more rights to people who struggle to obtain healthcare insurance. This bill was created to eliminate wasteful spending and unsuccessful health care programs. Under this bill Americans will receive medical attention despite pre-existing conditions. This bill regulates the insurance companies, but your healthcare decisions are still made between you and your doctor. ("Obamacare: Pros And Cons Of Obamacare Dispelling The Myth", n.d.) ObamaCare will provide 30 of 44 million uninsured Americans access to health insurance. Millions of Americans have already benefits from ObamaCare’s improved health care services, and some families have already saved thousands of dollars in health care costs last year. ObamaCare closes the “donut hole” for Medicare drugs while providing wellness and preventatives services without out- of- pocket costs to improve health care for seniors. Low income Americans (who have not opted out of Medicaid Expansion) will be covered since ObamaCare is expanding Medicaid to those under the poverty level and cannot afford (not enough money to and too much to qualify for Medicaid) insurance. Americans under 400% of the federal poverty level can save 60% on premiums in tax credits. ObamaCare includes a mandate on fast food restaurants requiring them to display caloric content to promote health and wellness. Children can stay on their parents’ insurance plan until age 26.
