HEALTHCARE REFORM

      Healthcare in the U.S is very complex and not structured.   The organization of healthcare in the U.S is categorized under the dispersed model (Bodenheimer & Grumbach, 2005, pp. 46). This system is an unorganized system with no definitive roles of the doctors. In addition to how the structuring of the U.S healthcare is, most of the funding of the healthcare comes from employer-based insurance (Bodenheimer & Grumbach, 2005). This means that one has to have a job which offers insurance as a benefit and also work fulltime. This poses a problem in society because not everyone is able to work full time as a result the population of those without insurance has increased drastically over the recent years. +Currently about 46 million people are uninsured therefore creating a huge problem in the health care system (Obama, 2009). President Obama oversaw this before he was elected and came up with a plan to reform the healthcare system. My own definition of health care reform is a type of law that seeks to improve and transform the U.S health care system to one that is affordable, stable and secure. Obama stated the four major ways that the health care reform will make our healthcare system more stable is by making the insurance more affordable, containing the increasing costs of our healthcare, improving Medicare by making sure that money benefits the health of the older generation rather than the insurance companies and getting insurance will not be an insurance because of discrimination against a certain disease (The White House; Office of the Secretary, 2009, pp.4)
      The healthcare reform proposal includes two major groups. It includes those with insurance and the ones without insurance. The people with insurance, the health reform will help them have a more stable and secure insurance (whitehouse.gov, n.p, pp 1).
