Indirect discrimination may occur in a way where by a service provider thinks everyone drinks tea only and only offers tea. Also giving a service user a shower daily but not offering them a bath or a wash.Biii. Describe ways of working that are inclusive and support anti-discriminatory practices.
By supporting an individual’s diversity by recognising their differences and valuing them and their individuality. you need to include everybody in group activities.
Encourage all individuals to express their views and opinions.
Don’t treat anybody different due to their background.
Biv. Explain how working in an inclusive way which recognises difference, can reduce the likelihood of discrimination.
When we work in an inclusive way we are openly communicating with people by getting to know what their preferences are and building trust. When a person has someone they trust they become less of a victim and are less likely to be discriminated against.
Bv. Describe effective ways of challenging discriminatory adult social care settings. Discrimination can be challenged by providing the appropriate training to make everyone aware of regulations that govern care.
One of the most successful ways of challenging in appropriate behaviour or remarks is to question the motivation of the perpetrator. Ask them questions like, “Why would you say that?” “What evidence do you have for that assertion?” “What are you really trying to say?” “Why are you being so defensive?”
It is important to remember is that the model for adults social care is based on the needs of the individual matched with the services that will most closely meet those needs.

When you tell the interviewer that you have four children, she comments about you needing a lot of time off work if they’re sick, and says you won’t be suitable for the position. This is a modern example of a direct form and how…

Workplace discrimination can be characterized as direct or Indirect. Direct discrimination involves treating someone less favorably because of their possession of an attribute (e.g., gender, age, race, beliefs, socio-economical status, national origin, disability, etc…), compared with someone without that attribute in the same circumstances. An example of direct discrimination would be not offering a job to a woman because she is likely to take maternity leave whereas a man is not. Indirect discrimination involves setting a condition or requirement which a smaller proportion of those with the attribute are able to comply with, without reasonable justification.…
