Introduction
John hired me to be the safety advisor for his new company. I will be looking at the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and General Regulations 2007. This will give John the outline of what he has to do too have a correct Health and Safety policy. I will be doing the risk assessment to identify any hazards within the working area.

1.1 General Duties of Employer
8. – (1) “Every employer have to ensure , so far as reasonably practicable, the safety, health and welfare at work of his or her employees” -(2) Employer’s duty to manage and conduct work activities in a way to ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, the safety, health and welfare at work of his employees Regarding to the place of work concerned, employer have to ensure, so far as reasonably practible : -Manage and conduct work activities in a way to avoid any improper conduct or behaviour that could put the safety, health and welfare at work of his employees at risk -Ensure, so far as reasonable practible, the conditions of the design, provision and -maintenance in the work place are safe and without risk to health -The design, provision and maintenance of machinery and plant, or any other objects are safe and do not hold the risks to health - Ensure the safety, and the prevention of risk to health at work of his employees in relation of using any articles or materials or the exposure to noise. - Provide systems of work that are organised, planned, performed and maintained as appropriate as it can be, as far as reasonable practicable, safe and without risk to health - Offer instructions, training, information and supervision to ensure, as far as reasonable practicable, the safety, health, and welfare at work of his employees - Determining and implementing the safety, health and welfare measures, when identifying any hazards and carrying out a risk assessment - Preparing plans and procedures to be followed and measures that needs to be taken in the cases of emergency or serious danger - Employer has to ensure that any measures taken by him in relation to safety, health and welfare at work do not involve financial cost to his employees - 9 Every employer shall ensure that information is given in a form, manner and, as appropriate, language that is understandable to employees - Information should include the dangers to safety, health and welfare at work and the risks that are identified by the risk evaluation - Preventative and protective measures need to be taking and specific tasks need to be performed in relation to safety, health and welfare at work - 10 Employer needs to ensure that the information regarding providing instruction, training and supervision is reasonably likely to be understandable to employees. - Training should be provided to employees on the introduction of new equipment, new technology, and in the case of the transfer of an employee or change of task. - 11 Employer should prepare and revise plans and procedures, and take measures in the cases of an emergency or serious danger - Provide necessary measures to be taken in the workplace for first –aid, fire fighting and the evacuation of employees and other individuals that are in the place of work, taking into account the nature of work, size of the place of work.
