Hiring a person is easy, but hiring the right person takes more effort, consumes more time and makes a huge difference.In order to be truly effective it is vital that a business has the right kind of personnel. Therefore, finding the right sales people means that recruitment and selection processes are a key factor in the success of any business. The importance of recruiting and selecting the sales person is that sales people are the representative of the company to sell products to the target group of customers. How they present the products, what they say to customers, and how they react with face-to-face interactions directlyinfluence company’s image and reputation. For example, a sales person has done something inappropriate that make the customer feel offended may seriously damage the impression of the company brand of the customers. Right people for the right job” implies the importance of recruitment and selection of the right salesperson for the business organisation in order to ensure the success of organization’s present and future objectives.() Aneffective recruitment may create a wide pool of talents to enable the selection of the best applicant for the sales force. Thirdly,there is a need for recruitment of sales people due to the reasons of retirement, promotion transfers, employee turnover, growth and diversification of business activities (Recruitment and Selection in Call Centre 2011). For example, when the company’s employee turnover is high, it is very important to recruit new sales people in order to keep their business. Customers who usually deal with their previous sales people may follow the old sales person to his or her new company or customers might choose another company. In this case, company may loss sales because of employee turnover. Therefore, new sales representative must be hired to deal with some old customers and also attract new customers.
